While reading up for another post I ran across something that I totally missed when news came out last week…The return of BSC book series. The little girl in mean squealed. I owned almost all of the books back in my elementary days, it was the Harry Potter of the last 80s/early 90s. But excitement turned to disappoint when reading that not only is Scholastic going to release book series they are also going to revamped the first few books to “updated” them. Why? If new girls of the 21st century want to start reading BSC then they should read it in it’s original print edition. Revamping a classic series takes away from why it was a classic to begin with. were written.

Despite this, the good that comes out of it is that original author Ann M, Martin wrote a prequel “The Summer Before” to the start of the BSC something exciting for us readers that are now adults. It will be nice to revisit the series even if it will be written for the very younger age group. The release and prequel are set for a April 2010 release.

Since they are revamping everything, I may now keep my collection.  And here I was trying to figure out how to unload them.
